Astronomical Data

Select "Astronomical Data" from the Toolbar "Tables" button to display the following window of general astronomical information, and planet data.

This window contains the following general information:

  • Julian date of event,
  • local sidereal time,
  • Ephemeris amendment (dT),
  • Sidereal Ayanamsa (SA). This is the difference between tropical and sidereal Zodiacs, if a sidereal Zodiac has been selected in Chart Settings,
  • Average angle of inclination of the equator of the Earth to ecliptic (Eo),
  • Nutation of equatorial inclination (dE),
  • Nutation of equatorial longitude (dF).

The specific astronomical data for the planets and other bodies:

  • Ecliptical geocentric longitude,
  • Ecliptical geocentric latitude,
  • Equatorial right ascention,
  • Declination,
  • Hour angle,
  • Horizontal azimuth,
  • Altitude,
  • Distance from the Earth (in kilometers for the Moon and Lilith; otherwise in astronomical units),
  • Angular speed (ecliptical geocentric) in degrees per day,
  • Maximal angular speed,
  • Angular speed as a percentage of maximal,
  • Angular diameter (apparent visible size),
  • Inclination of the planet orbit to the ecliptic (i)
  • Eccentricity of orbit (eks),
  • Semimajor axis of orbit in a.u. (A),
  • Ascending Node of orbit (O),
  • Perihelion of orbit (P),
  • Ecliptical heliocentrical longitude (l)
  • Ecliptical heliocentrical latitude (b),
  • Radius-vector planet - Sun in a.u. (R),
  • Rectangular Ecliptical heliocentrical coordinates in a.u. (X, Y, Z).

Click with the right button in any field of the table for a menu of options for creating a text file from the data:

  • Utilize "xxxx" for txt - sets the column of the table labelled "xxxx" for inclusion in the text file,
  • Decimal format - sets the format of the data output to decimal fractions of a degree (rather than degrees, minutes, seconds),
  • Save as ASTRO.TXT - saves the selected data to a text file of this name residing in the ZET\Wrk folder. A text editor application is then started automatically, and the file opened and displayed for editing,
  • Save as ASTRO*.TXT - saves the selected data to a text file using a unique naming scheme, where * represents successive numeric increments,
  • Save as... - opens a file Save As dialog,
  • Copy... - copies the data to the Clipboard.
